DIY Phone Case

Hello,

It is now partway through the Summer Holidays and for me I can't always find something to do; the aim of this post is to give you a step by step guide for a easy DIY to keep you busy!  For this DIY you don't need to be arty, it is so simple and looks great. I am going to show you how to make a personal phone case that won't break the bank.

You first need to find a clear case for your device. These could either be completely clear or a 'hybrid' case - were it has colour around the edge. They can both be easily found on Amazon for less than £5. For the purpose of this tutorial I have made a case for my iPod as I already own clear cases.

Your next step is to select a photo or drawing for your case. I have used a quote for mine but you could create a case with a photo of your family, favourite celebrity; you could even use your own drawn design or drawing if you are a bit more arty. You might want to measure the size of the case to make sure your photo fits. I resized mine on Microsoft Word to get it nearly the right size. Remember, you will be cutting into the photo you use.

You now need to cut your image to the right size. I suggest that you draw around your case to get the size accurate. To do this use a pencil as you can then rub out the lines if you do it wrong. You may need to trim and adjust the image so it fits nicely; just put the image into your case to see how much you need to adjust it by. After this you need to turn the image over with the case's back on top of the image. You then need to draw and cut out the holes for your camera etc. (as shown in the photo above) Again you might need to adjust these. It is very important that you turn the image over as this will make sure the holes are in the correct place.

And that's it - simple. You can now put the image into your case and put your device in. I love this as you don't need to buy a new case every time you want to have a change, all you need to do if use another image! I was very happy with the way mine worked out. This is my favourite quote from 'The Fault in our Stars'; I just found this on Google Images so credit to the person who made it!

This DIY was quite fun to write and photograph, I hope this is useful. If you do make your own using this tutorial do let me know :) See you next time. Enjoy the rest of the Summer Holidays, Goodbyee

Floral Dress OOTD

Hello,

I'm not the sort of person that wears dresses all the time but as soon as I saw this skater style dress in H&M I fell in love with it! So, in todays post I am going to be showing you one way I like to wear the dress... The weather has been nice recently but when I decided to take these photos the sun went in, typical, and about 10 minutes later a storm started, good old British weather...

Dress | H&M £14.99

Shoes | Office £44.99

Socks | Topshop £3.50

Necklace | H&M £5.99

Rings | New Look £1.99 (set of 4)

Nail Polish | Rimmel £2.99

This dress is white, with a blue and green flower and leaf pattern. It is really comfortable and can be paired with different items to create different looks. I have created a casual look by wearing my grey Converse and frilly socks. I think the dress would also look nice paired with Heels or Sandals for a more formal look. When I purchased the dress I also found a Gold Triangle necklace - I'd been looking for one like this for a while. It is a basic statement necklace and because of this I find it goes well with many of my clothes. As this dress is patterned I only wanted a simple necklace and I think this does the job perfectly! I have rediscovered my Rimmel nail polish in 'Pear Drop'. Its a turquoise colour and matches the dress well. This polish dries quite fast as well, so that's even better. I stacked two Gold Midi Rings, one is blue to match the floral pattern and the other is a star shape.

Thank you for reading :) I'm not really sure why I can't find the necklace and rings online because I did purchase them recently; but they might still be available in the shops. I should be creating a Summer Lookbook at some point so keep an eye out for that. I'd also like to add that this is the first blog post I've taken the photos with my new camera (Nikon Coolpix S6800); in the past I have been using either a iPhone4s or iPod (unless I said otherwise) so now the images will be a lot better. See you next weekend. Byee.

Happy Birthday Mariah ♡

Hello,

Today I'm back with a mid week post; as I'm on my Summer Holidays I might start doing more of these. Today I went shopping with a few of my friends and although I didn't buy much :( I did take some photos.  So that's what I'm going to be sharing with you today... I'm sorry if the photos aren't amazing quality, I only had my phone.

10 Things To Do This Summer

Image from Google Images - not my photo

Hello,

I saw Alfie (Pointlessblog) do a YouTube video titled '25 Things To Do This Summer' (link to video here.) In this video he basically made a list of 25 things to do over the summer months, he was then going to document these in a note book to create a Summer Journal - I really liked this idea and have  decided to try it out. I have done this slightly differently; I've chosen a list of 10, not 25 (mostly because I can't think of  that many!) and I will write a blog post at the end of the summer instead of creating a journal - this is just easier for me. However, you could have a go at this either way or adapt this idea yourself, if you wanted to have a go.

So, here is my list of Summer activities I want to attempt this summer. My list includes things that remind me of summer, others I just like the sound of...

1♡ Eat an ice cream - this is an easy one but it just describes summer time perfectly to me.

2♡ Sunbathe - again this is a typical summer activity, I just wanted to make the most of the, hopefully sunny, weather.

3♡ Try a new Costa 'summer drink' - I'm a huge Costa fan and I want to force myself to try something I've never tried before - as I'm a creature of habit when it comes to drinks and food.

4♡ Have a BBQ - just because BBQs are the best!

5♡ Build a sandcastle - obviously, you're never to old to build a sandcastle!

6♡ Pamper evening - I want to have a nice relax with a bubbly bath and a face mask.

7♡ Huge Shopping spree - I never spend that much money at once but once just once I will.. maybe at once (hehe)!

8♡ Summer Playlist - I want to create a playlist of old and new songs that are upbeat, happy and remind me of summer. (I might do this as a blog post?!)

9♡ Night Walk - I think this would be really cool...

10♡ Movie day - well.. this is compulsory!! A day when I can do nothing and just relax would be perfect.

List complete! I will try my best and tick off  everything I've written about... I would love it if you tried this out yourself - if you do don't forget to let me know or maybe if you write a blog you could write a post and comment the link below :) thank you for reading, have a lovely summer and I will see you next week, Goodbyee

The Liebster Award

Hello,

I recently read a blog post on Amy's blog (thewonderfulworldofamyrose.blogspot.co.uk) called The Liebster Award - I love her blog and would recommend you check it out after reading this. She nominated everyone who read the post to give this tag a go; it looked like a good idea so today I am.

1.  What sort of Instagram accounts do you follow?
I am definitely addicted to Instagram and follow some really beautiful accounts; I like the floral accounts but also the more photography and non filter accounts. Some of my favourites would be @georgiaa_louise, @amyrose_x, @_emma__c, @o.liv.ia and @beths.photography - if I named them all we'd be here all day.

2. What is your favourite eye product and why?
I am a very 'eye make-up' person, this is my favourite make-up to wear and buy. I would have to say the Maybelline Colour Tattoo's, they last all day and it barely feels like they are there. My favourite at the moment is 'Pink-Gold', it is a beautiful spring/summer shade.

3. If you could have one super power for the day what would it be?
This would either have to be to fly or to be invisible. If I could fly I would be able to fly really quickly to school and not rush around in the mornings to be on time! But then I'm quite nosey so if I was invisible I could listen to other peoples conversations (oops hehe). I think it would have to be flying! Wow I'm thinking way too much into this!!!

4. What is your favourite shop and/or designer?
I am a huge New Look fan, I buy almost everything from there as its really local. I am trying to shop in other places now though and have brought some really nice things from H&M recently.

5. What are your ambitions in life?
I would love to be a Graphic Designer as a job and maybe create some drawings/ painting to sell. Art is a major hobby for me, I love it!

6. Do you have any favourite blogs and why?
I enjoy reading Amy's blog (thewonderfulworldofamyrose.blogspot.co.uk) and Georgia's blog (georgialouisebeauty.blogspot.co.uk), they both write such lovely blog posts regularly - I would recommend you go and read there blogs if you don't already. I also love to read Zoe (Zoella) and Gabby's (Velvetgh0st) blogs as they both have been blogging a lot more recently, which I am happy about.

7. What do you do in your spare time?
I enjoy art as I've said before but I also like watching YouTube and social media, like most teenage girls!

8. Favourite book?
I'm a huge fan of The Fault in our Stars and really want to read some more of John Green's books soon.

9. Must have hand bag beauty product?
I love a good lip balm and take one everyday to school.

10. Favourite place in the world?
This would have to be Croyde Bay in Devon, England. I love this place and it brings back wonderful memories every time I go, its like a second home! I would hate it if I could never go back again.

Now its time for my questions for you. I tag Mariah (justalittlehello.blogspot.co.uk) to give this a go, answering the questions below. And to anyone else who wants to give this tag a go!

My questions:

1. What would be the one make-up product you couldn't live without?
2. Do you prefer the summer or winter and why?
3. If you could meet one YouTuber, who would it be?
4. Favourite make-up brand?
5. What's the best thing about writing your blog?
6. What is your favourite quote?
7. What beauty product is the best value for money in your opinion?
8. What would be your dream holiday?
9. Favourite movie?
10. One make-up product you wish you never brought and why?

So again if you want to have a go at this tag just answers my questions and tag someone else with new questions. If you do, let me know and I will read the blog post :) Thank you for reading, see you next time goodbye.

Floral Photography

Hello,

I've got a little midweek post for you all! Basically I found this blog post that I had written and completely forgot about it (oops), so I thought I would share it with you today, as it's just a photography post. I took these photos with my Dad's camera (Canon Powershot SX500 IS) as a kind of experiment at the end of May and I think they turned out pretty well. Hope you enjoy, see you for a new post Sunday :)

June Favourites

Hello July,

Today I will be sharing my June favourites with you all - wow June went so quickly! I've decided to set this blog post out a bit differently than my last one (read that here) as my last two blog posts have be so long. Again I'm going to include some beauty favourites but also random things that I have loved and recommend this month.

I'm going to start with my beauty favourites. I bet you can't tell what my favourite makeup brand is... oh dear I've definitely been loving Maybelline products a lot this month.

I'm going to start with the Maybelline Brow Drama, I LOVE this product I brought it at the start of June for £4.99, mine is in the shade 'Dark Blonde' and I am blown away by how better it makes my eye brows look. I recommend this to anyone, it is great for keeping your brows in place all day as well as adding colour - I would highly recommend it to you if you're thinking of starting to perfect your eyebrows or if you don't want to fill them in but still make them look better.

I have all the Baby Lips but I have been particularly loving Hydrate. I have been working on a review on all the baby lips to include in a future blog post so have been using these a lot more recently. I don't think the baby lips are worth the hype but in June I have been liking Hydrate. People have mix views on these product and Hydrate is really one of the only ones I like. I feel it makes my lips feel a lot better but I will go into more detail in the review. (£2.99)

I always have a nail polish favourite and in June it has to be the Maybelline Colour Show in Coral Craze. It is a perfect Summer colour and I will be wearing it a lot  over the Summer, I know it! This was £2.99. I think it is perfect for anyone with a tan - I think it actually looks like you have a better tan.

The final makeup/ beauty favourite is the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Pink-Gold. This is the perfect cream eye shadow for Spring and Summer. I've worn this so much and I still have loads left - a little goes along way with this product, which is great for £4.99. It lasts all day and I love it!!

Onto more random favourites... First I must talk about the One Direction Where We Are Tour concert. I wrote a whole blog post on this (Read it here), so I won't go into much detail. It was amazing and I really want to re-live the experience all over again!

Bit random but I have been loving the Milky Way Magic Stars (my favourites wouldn't be complete without some sort of chocolate or sweets.. oops). I have always loved these!

I have also been loving wearing these loose shorts from Primark (£4). These are great for a relaxing in and for the beach. They are super good for the Summer as they keep you cool in the Summer heat (fingers crossed!!). And they are only £4!

I recently purchased two CD's: 5 Seconds of Summer and Ed Sheeran 'X'. I have been loving both of these, I always get excited to listen to a new album and I'm listening to both of these as I'm writing this blog post. I love all the songs on the albums but have found myself singing 'One' - Ed Sheeran and 'Don't Stop' - 5SOS around the house...

In my last favourites I spoke about The Fault in Our Stars, I wanted to see the film of the book after reading it as it was so good. So, at the end of June I went to see it in the cinema with one of my friends and it didn't disappoint. However, I would recommend that you read the book first if you want to read it because the film does miss out some of it. It worked well as a book and a film, if that makes sense, and I would recommend you go and watch it if you haven't already.

Thank you for reading this favourites blog post. Do let me know what you've been loving recently. See you next time goodbye :)
