Exams, Exams, Exams

I would firstly like to say a massive THANKYOU; today it has officially been a year since I created this blog. (HAPPY BIRTHDAY Megan's World..!) I never imagined it getting this far, I mean I never expected people (other than people I know) to read it and it's crazy when I look at my audience stats and see views from all across the world, from big country's like America to smaller places that I have never really heard of! It's amazing to think how my blog has 'been' to more places that I've even travelled. I am never imagined I would have this much fun blogging, I honestly thought that I would get a month in and run out of ideas... My blog looked awful when I began but I have really enjoyed creating something that I can look back on in the future. Thankyou for all he support.

Onto the main purpose of this update post...

Being in Year 11, it is nearly exam season which is going to take up most of my life for the next couple of months. (My first exam is actually on Friday..) I have decided to take a break from blogging until my GCSEs are out of the way as it is important that all my effort goes into passing them. Over the last couple of months I have found juggling school, revision, homework and blogging quite difficult, with the added need to take a break and relax once in a while. Quite a lot of my blog posts recently have been pre-prepared or rushed as I really haven't had a lot of time. I feel that if I continue to blog through my exam period it will not only effect my exams but my posts would be rushed as well. My exams are really important and I hope you understand why I'm taking a break. I really don't deal with stress well and the added pressure of uploading something every week would not help. This is definitely not a permanent thing, I think my exams will be over by the end of June?! and I'll have finished school for the Summer, so I will be able to return to blogging then. I really enjoy writing this blog and hopefully after my exams I will be able to put a lot more time and effort into my posts - I already have a few plans and ideas.

Thankyou for understanding. Feel free to follow my social media links (I'm not 100% sure that I will upload regularly on there either, but I'm more likely to post something on there than write a blog post!). I would also love it if you could request some blog post ideas, so when I get back I can work through them. If your new to my blog, then hello!, feel free to follow and check out some of my posts, I'll be back very shortly! Good luck to everyone taking exams this summer, I'm sure you'll do really well. See you soon, goodbye xxx

Neutral Nails

L-R Are you still available?, Chai, Highland Mist, Almond

Hello,

Spring is here and I feel it's time to change up my nail look. Over the winter I  basically just wore darker shades and / or glitter nail polishes; so a new season is the perfect time to change it up.

This spring I have opted for the neutral and slightly grey toned pastel colours (I have no idea whether that's the right thing to call them). Although these are the types of colours you can wear all year round (and with most of these I do), I think these colours do work best around this time of year; you can create a really elegant look with a neutral nail and make your nails look really fresh and awake.

There are many of these colours out there and so many that I am yet to try; so I thought I would create a list of some of my favourite neutral nail polishes that I have tried...

Makeup Revolution - Are you still available?
What is there that I haven't already said about this!! It is a beautiful purple-grey shade. I have worn this so much and I think it would suit all seasons.

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine - Chai
This is a grey colour. I'm only a fan of the Gelly Hi- Shine range from Barrym; you don't need lots of coats like the other ranges. It's super shiny and would go well with any outfit. It is a bit darker to the other colours in this post but I know I will get a lot of wear out of this!

No.7 Stay Perfect - Highland Mist
I LOVE the quality of No.7 nail polishes; they are fast drying and have a really nice finish. It is a subtle corally pink shade and looks really pretty.

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine - Almond
Another BarryM nail polish. This is a beautiful pale purple- grey (a lot lighter to the first Makeup Revolution colour). This, like all the others I've included, is a very wearable, pretty nude colour - I will be wearing it a lot!!

Thankyou for reading. I hope you enjoyed. A neutral nail polish can really complete a look, if you haven't already check out my 'Step into Spring' Lookbook to find out what I will be wearing this season (here). Also feel free to comment some other neutral nail polishes I should try. Goodbyee.

Pamper Routine

Hello,

Today's post is a collab with Tabby from http://www.comejoinusforacupoftea.blogspot.co.uk/ she has just started a blog and I would love it if you could check out her blog and blog post after you've read this. She also has an amazing Instagram so follow her on there!!! (I will link Tabby's post at the end.)

Anyway todays post is a pamper routine, and as so of you (like me) will be taking your exams this summer this is a great way to relax and get some alone time as its important to balance revision with 'free time'. And if you aren't taking exams, its still important that you allow yourself to have a relax once in a while.

I'm most likely to 'pamper' myself in the evening, so my first step would be to remove all my makeup. I personally hate the feeling of 'day out' makeup. I would then run myself a bath and use either a Lush product or a nice bubble bath. I really like using the Lush bubble bars, these can create LOADS of bubbles and one 'bar' lasts for so many baths, therefore create value for money. I have photographed 'Pop in the bath', this is quite a Spring/Summer product and leaves your skin feeling really soft. I know some people prefer to have a shower but I always enjoy having a bath, all year round!

I would then complete my 'Skin care' routine - I don't yet have a skin care routine that I am completely happy with and my skin is quite bad at the moment. (if you have any skin care products you recommend, please let me know, especially if you have sensitive skin as I really struggle to find products that work for me.) Anyway, after this is completed I would use either a Lush face mask or the Lush Ocean Salt face scrub. This is something that I would only do once a week maximum - particularly the Ocean Salt as that is too harsh on your skin to use everyday.

To finish 'pampering' your skin I would then apply either a body lotion or body scrub.  I have photographed the Soap and Glory Body Moisturising Mist; this is really easy to use and smells a m a z i n g, the One Direction Our moment body lotion, and the Soap and Glory Flake Away; I haven't used this yet but it looks really good and smells great.

When my bath and skin routine is complete, my perfect way to spend the rest of the evening is to watch some YouTube videos, read some blog posts and scroll through my social media. Occasionally I might choose to watch a film or read a book. To accompany this I would have a snack, for me it would most likely be chocolate or popcorn. (unhealthy I know!)

Now, to finish off the day I always apply some lip balm, my current favourite is the Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla. I have also recently started to write a one line a day book and (if I remember) I will fill this in before I go to sleep.

Thankyou for reading; don't forget to check out Tabbys post HERE. Have a lovely Easter, see you soon!
